The Importance of Poverty Simulations for Elected Officials

    Last month there was an interesting article in The Atlantic that describes the lack of experience many (most) of our elected officials have with poverty.  It's the people with the least experience living in poverty who we have elected to create the policies that impact poverty - the article describes the issues that raises.  It's a great foundation on which to present the need to do more poverty simulations and get more elected officials to participate in those simulations.  Check it out here:
