As you may know, the Office of Community Services is working with the Urban Institute to facilitate a Performance Management Task Force. The Task Force is composed of approximately 30-40 individuals including CAA Executive Directors and other staff, CSBG State Office Staff, National Partner staff, and others outside the Community Action network.  The Task Force will coordinate national efforts to create and implement enhanced performance management tools and protocols for CSBG.  To that end, three meetings have been scheduled of this group.  The fist took place earlier this month and two more meetings will be held in February and April.

The first meeting focused primarily on obtaining critical input regarding current performance management systems and recommendations for potential changes. The second meeting is expected to be used to obtain reactions from key stakeholders to proposed improvements to performance reporting.

The third and final meeting will include presentation of a draft set of new performance management and reporting efforts, and discussion of roles and expectations for ongoing maintenance of any new approaches.

NYSCAA has been asked, as the lead for Region II, to seek information to help guide the work of the Performance Management Task Force.  The goal is to expand on the Task Force’s conversation about the value of the CAA designation and the value of the CSBG dollars and how to measure that value.
