Work can be hard sometimes.  It’s even harder when you have to deal with conflict and negativity from your fellow employees (and how’s your attitude been lately?).   Just as kryptonite saps Superman of all his superpowers, "toxic employees" can sap the energy right out of the workplace.  These toxic employees - true to the name - can poison the business atmosphere where you work, and can make it difficult, if not impossible, to work effectively.  The toxicity is insidious, and can drag everyone into an abyss of low morale, negative emotions, and decreased productivity.  

This webinar will help you recognize the characteristics of toxicity and negativity – and offer over a dozen specific ideas and action steps for managing conflict, dealing with inappropriate and intimidating behavior, and developing more productive relationships through the positive use of “negativity relievers”.


About the Presenter:

The webinar presenter is Dr. Bob Bitting - Dr. Bitting works at Alfred University, and is an independent leadership and organizational development consultant.  He has developed and presented over 1,000 training programs for industry, government, not-for-profit and human service agencies, and academic institutions on the subjects of leadership, motivation, conflict management, emotional intelligence, career development and life planning, effective communications, outcomes-based strategic planning, teambuilding, coaching and counseling skills, and humor and change (among other topics).  Recent clients include the U.S. Army, Saint-Gobain North America, Northwest Savings Bank, the Southwest Florida Library Network, and the Health Information Management Association.  He also has worked with several NYS Community Action Agencies, including Cattaraugus Community Action Inc., ACCORD Corporation, and ProAction of Steuben and Yates, Inc.   Dr. Bitting earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from SUNY Buffalo, with an emphasis on leadership and organizational development.  He is currently the Director of the Graduate Public Administration Program, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, for the Downstate (NYC area) Graduate School.  He teaches in both the Public Administration and Counseling Programs.  Dr. Bitting is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), specializing in services for domestic violence victims and offenders, and is certified through the Department of Homeland Security as a domestic violence instructor trainer.  He has published numerous articles related to research and economic development, as well as articles on leadership, humor, change, and effective communications in the workplace, and has been a contributing editor to the Olean Times Herald in the area of management development.
