Dads Take Your Child To School 2013 was a great success! Tuesday May 13th marks the launch of the new campaign website:

Join us for an informational webinar, to be held at 10:00am. To register for this webinar, please click here.  The webinar is designed for staff and administrators at schools, Head Start programs, community-based organizations, and other community stakeholders. We will review successes across New York State, share promising practices from last year’s campaign, and offer suggestions for you to use this event to help bring fathers and father-figures into your programs and initiatives over the next year. During the webinar, colleagues will review helpful information, such as:

-          Review of the newly designed website and  

-          Suggested themes for 2014 and examples of how to tie this campaign to promote literacy, safety, health and wellness and other campaigns

-          Highlights of 2013 campaign

-          Information about resources available on the website

-          Strategies to plan for 2014

The Dads Take Your Child to School (DTYCTS) campaign promotes father involvement by encouraging fathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, godfathers, and other significant male caregivers to take their children to school or Head Start at the start of the school year and remain involved throughout the year.  From its inception at one school in Brooklyn to over 450 schools and Head Start programs across New York State in 2013, numerous community and statewide partners, and thousands of dads participated in this event. Throughout educational institutions from Niagara Falls to New York City, father involvement is growing around New York.

DTYCTS takes place statewide on the third Tuesday in September: Tuesday September 16th, 2014. Site registration is officially open (please visit: to get started.
